This
luxury resort opened in 2009 and is the first non timeshare resort
built in West Maui in 20 years! Located on North Kaanapali Beach (map),
there is over 2 miles of beach and board-walk going from
Honua Kai, past the Sheraton Maui and ending at Hyatt Regency Maui.
This resort features spacious studio,
one,
two and three bedroom suites with luxury
furnishings. Daily maid service is provided. Inside,
the feel is that of a luxury Maui vacation home, graciously furnished
in exotic wood, granite counters, stainless steel Bosch appliances. All
of the very spacious and comfortable units offer air conditioning,
cable flat screen in the living room and each bedroom, DVD player, free
internet access, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, separate tub &
shower, safe, washer/dryer and a spacious lanai, fully furnished.
On-site amenities include 3 pools
(the activity pool and river pool will be opening in 2010), jacuzzi, 3
restaurants (2 of them opening in 2010), Honua Kai Spa (opening 2010),
room service, fitness center, full service concierge, children's
program and pool & beach activity center. A second building of
rooms is being completed and will open in early 2010 (photo).

27, 2009 update: The waterslide and 2nd pool are now open (photo).

9, 2009 update: The
last 2 pools are being filled with water, final landscaping is being
done and the final interior touches are being completed in the second
building.
Duke's
of Maui restaurant is owned by the same company that owns
popular Kimo's, Hula Grill and Lelani's. Scheduled to open December 15,
2009.
Guests will be charged a Resort Fee of $25
per night plus tax upon arrival which includes:
parking, beach & pool services discount, use of fitness room,
in-suite safe, wired & wireless Internet access, free local calls
and long distance calls at cost.
